This page explains what this site collects, why it collects it, and what you can do about it. It applies to this website only, not to the retailer that fulfils your order or to any other site you reach from a link here.
Information We Collect
The site has no account system and no checkout. We do not ask for your name, address, or payment details.
Two things do reach us. Analytics software records anonymised visit data: pages viewed, approximate region, referring site, browser, and screen size. If you send a message through the contact form or subscribe for restock alerts, the address and text you type reach us that way.
The contact form on this site is not connected to a mail server and returns an error when submitted. Write to the email address on the contact page instead.
How We Use It
Analytics data tells us which guides people finish and which questions go unanswered, so we know what to write next. Messages you send are used to answer you. We do not sell any of it, and we do not build advertising profiles from it.
Cookies
This site sets a small number of cookies. One remembers that you dismissed the cookie notice so it stops appearing. Analytics cookies count visits and measure how long pages hold attention.
Your browser can block or delete cookies from its settings. Blocking them does not break the pages here, though the cookie notice will reappear on each visit.
Third-Party Links and Services
Product links send you to a retailer that operates under its own privacy policy and sets its own cookies, including affiliate tracking that credits this site for a referral. Analytics is provided by Google. Read their policies for what they collect on their side.
Data Retention and Security
Analytics reports are kept in aggregate form. Messages sent to the support address are kept while the question is open and deleted afterwards. The site runs over an encrypted connection, though no transmission over the internet is ever entirely without risk.
Your Choices
You may decline the cookie notice, browse with cookies blocked, unsubscribe from restock alerts using the link in any message, or ask us to delete a message you sent. Residents of jurisdictions with statutory data rights, including the EU and California, may request access to or deletion of data we hold about them.
Children's Privacy
This site is aimed at adults buying outdoor cooking equipment. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, write to us and we will delete it.
